New tpoic-
Could we discuss the costuming - whose ideas, how do you tie it together? Since Ak-Ana are not skinny-minny mice, but voluptuous-dolls part of the design? What goes into Gothic designs, different from Tribal, Caberet, Gypsy, etc? Do you always change costumes for each song, does the costume change affect the song dance order? What other points of interest did I forget to ask (lots I know!!)

      Hi Beth and all...

A little glimpse into how we come up with our costumes is - It really all depends on the music and the mood we are trying to evoke.

For our Debut - The mood changed with the music.
All in all it was sultry, fun, and kida funky with some indian flavor.
For the last show we did 2 sets and 2 costumes
The Fairy set was to ethereal music (Qntal) where our Goddess brought us to life to dance for her.
The other set was all Rob Zombie tunes led off by living dead girl. we tried to have more goth-flavored costumes for that.

The main rule is that they should be comfortable and conducive to dancing! Then we figure on the "flattering" factor". Some of us have a color preference, etc..

I believe that Dark-ish flavored tribal will be costuming will be for the ren faire - we'll each be wearing something relatively unique. Im sure to be accented w/ heavy jewelry/Harquus (facial tattoos) and deep colors.

We have some planning to do for the upcoming BellyJam and RGIII.
(even if we didn't, I couldnt give away the seekwet!)

I hope that that was somewhat enlightening!

The outfits were really tied to the music. I love costuming myself, so I know how much fun you were having!! The fairy criss cross ribbon one was not a look I've seen in any sort of bellydancing I've seen. Kinda Tatiana looking.
